Unpopular artist confession: asking a first date to swap tiny sketches over coffee - clever icebreaker or weird audition?

I'm Jordan, 29, a filmmaker/digital artist in LA. I ask new matches to bring a tiny sketch to our first meet so we can trade work and break the ice. Feels like a creative filter... but am I being charming, performative, or just plain awkward?
