Visiting artist from Istanbul - would leaving a sealed origami crane + haiku + jasmine sachet in your Beijing building/elevator as a low-pressure flirt be sweet or creepy?

I paint tiny cranes and tuck handwritten haikus into them when I travel. Thinking of dropping a sealed crane with a QR for 'swap sketches + coffee' in communal spots to meet people gently - but I don't want to cross boundaries. Beijing locals, honest take?

  • Sweet & consent-first - do it in public spaces
  • Okay in open art spots (798, cafes), not homes
  • No elevators/apartment halls - invasive
  • Don't leave unsolicited notes - creepy
